Probber Wall Mount Desk
SOLD Highly collectible, very rare Harvey Probber wall-mount desk, in rosewood book matched veneer all around and solid ebonized mahogany supports and drawer front. Drawer pulls are solid sculpted rosewood. This piece has been completely and faithfully restored to its original condition and finish. The clean modern lines of the desk juxtaposed with the more traditionally ornate supports is quintessential Probber. In a 1958 interview, Probber said that “the quality of aging gracefully is design’s fourth dimension.” This desk proves his point. Accompanying chair is a signed Sibast, one of the premier names in Danish Modern furniture. On the rare occasion that a set of these becomes available, it sells for well over five thousand dollars. This one has been newly reupholstered and is a worthy partner for this desk.
