Lucite Black Deco Modern Floor Clock $499
This is not your grandfather's clock. An ultra-modern, Deco-inspired pedestal floor clock with tremendous presence, it boasts a removable round circle top that perches securely on a solid pedestal base. Constructed from high gloss black Lucite laminate over plywood frame. As if by magic, the gold modern clock face "floats" in clear Lucite within the larger black Lucite circle frame; the circle can be moved on the pedestal to allow for different positions of the clock, or it is also equipped to be hung on the wall by itself. The clock movement itself can be turned independently of the whole, so noon can always be facing up no matter what position the clock is in—a very nifty trick. The ingenious two-part construction also allows for easier transport. This is a high-quality piece of furniture, made circa 1980. Maker is unknown but the quality of the construcion indicates that this was a custom or designer made piece. There are two minor dents, a very small one on the front of the circle and a deeper one on the side of the circle--but they are hardly noticeable and the overall aesthetic is in no way compromised. Battery powered clock runs quietly and well.
