In 1970, an accomplished woodworker named Tony August made this rectangular wall clock in his home workshop. It’s a surprisingly successful design choice to place the decorative metal square clock face on a wood background of butcher-block like strips of mixed hardwoods—maple, walnut, mahogany, cherry and ash. The clock is refined and well-made, with an expertly made frame to give it a finished overall look. Battery powered movement keeps time perfectly.
