Laurel’s desk lamps were some of the finest examples of iconic mid century design and this rare example is definitely up there with their most noteworthy. Extremely elegant, sturdy, serviceable and in very fine condition, showing very little evidence of its true age. Both cones pivot and hold their positions perfectly. The base, which we meticulously hand polished, looks like liquid metal. It has also been rewired to the base while the internal wiring was checked and is in fine shape. There is a minor ding in the right cone, and a scuff here and there, barely worth mentioning because overall this piece cuts like a razor through all of the ‘retro’ noise. The perforated pin holes in the cones make this lamp as stunning lit up at night as it is sitting golden pretty in the day.
