This is a beautifully realistic drawing of a two female nude, called appropriately “Twin Reclining Nudes”. Though it stands alone quite well, it is part of a series of three such works curated and framed by Soicher-Marrin Fine Art for Macy’s / Bullocks in Southern California in the mid-1990’s.

Soicher-Marrin has been, and continues to be, a trusted resource for interior designers for over 50 years, relied upon for their vintage prints and sophisticated wall décor. This is from their Culver City, CA gallery. Bullocks (still listed as part of Macy’s on the back) was a well-loved Southern Californina department store chain that became part of the Macy’s umbrella in the late 20th century.

These prints are tasteful and beautifully framed in ornate silver wood frames with a simple black mating. The wood of the frames has taken a beating in the last 20 years, and show many nicks and marks. Overall, however, they still present quite well and the art itself draws the eye. The prints are under glass and remain in excellent condition.

The artist is not listed on the back, interestingly.
