“To all brave, healthy, able bodied and well disposed young men in this neighborhood”, begins this poster, a 1970s reproduction of a 1770’s recruitment effort. We often here about the rag-tag army George Washington had to work with, so who knows how well this poster appealed to its chosen demographic…but all’s well that ends well, you might say. The bicentennial in 1976 spurred an interest in Revolutionary war memorabilia, such as this poster, which has been affixed to a solid wood back and decoupaged for protection. It’s a handsome piece of history, in good condition.
