I Like Mike's Mid Century Modern
$599.00
The Mystery Clock as a genre has a history dating back hundreds of years, the unifying theme being “Just how in the world does this clock work?” The 1940’s update on this theme brought us the see-through clock, like this rare Rex Cole clock, complete with the Boots Boy logo. (Rex Cole was a genius marketer, and the “boots boy” represents the good salesman who has magic boots to hurdle over all obstacles—how American!)
This is an iconic and rare piece, and it works. It utilizes the same rotating inner glasses to tell time as high end time pieces such as LeCoultre, and with its bakelite base, chrome outer ring and clear interior, it looks amazing doing it. A collector’s item, a decorator’s dream, a terrific clock.
7.75" H x 6" W x 3" Deep (base), .5" Deep (face)
