Mandolin Copper Wire Art Mid Century Wall Hanging

I Like Mike's Mid-Century Modern

Behold a beautiful mandolin, built from nothing but mere wire, tiny nails and some metal circles. Copper wire art such as this was popular at mid-century. Perhaps this piece was a the work of talented part-time craftsmen with a high-quality kit, since there are no markings to suggest a company. It is copper wire tightly wound, on a background of brown naugahyde over board. Though firmly of its time it has a timeless grace and--to state the obvious--it would be the perfect gift for a mandolin player...or is that mandolinist?
