I Like Mike's Mid Century Modern
$299.00
This lovely female figure, made of heavy stone-like ceramic, is based on a Bronze Age statue from 2500 BC, found on one of the Cyclade Islands, South of Naxos. Made in the 1950s, she is perched on a solid wood base and is designed to come right off her holder. The imperfections, such as her missing foot, are in homage to the original.
What we love is how something so ancient can look so clean and modern. An interesting and lovely piece of art for your home, this sculpture is a mid-century antiquity.
NB: The wood block on which the sculpture is perched has darkened over the years, except for a rectangular shape that had a label on it.
15.5" H; Base is 4.5" x 4.5" x 1.25"
