This is a rare pair of Gilner Asian figurine planters in vibrant, shiny red and gold, in pristine condition. Gilner was part of the California Pottery wave, an artware company based in Culver City, CA, doing business from 1948-1957. They made these Asian planters in at least two different finishes, with this red and speckled gold version being less literal, and therefore more appealing, than the other style they also offered. Though they look new, with nary a chip or crack or spot of lost finish, they are more than 60 years old. Knock out red and gold!
