This breathtaking image of San Francisco was taken and then printed by Charles (Chas) Weidner, the legendary German-born panoramic photographer and postcard maker who made chronicling his adopted home town the work of his life.
This extraordinary piece is a very rare original poster advertising the legendary Panama-Pacific International Exposition of 1915. Coming only 9 years after San Francisco was a burnt shell of a town, this major event represented a major turning point for the town and for the state in general. At The Panama-Pacific International Expo, there was no denying that California had arrived.
Paper poster is worn and has tears (pictured), but it is in remarkable condition considering it is now over 100 years old. It should be professionally framed with archival materials.
