An interesting shift happened to kitchen decor in the 1970s. Whereas the previous two decades had featured candy-colored appliances and sleek chrome-heavy celebrations of shiny man-made materials, the hippie-influenced return-to-nature turn in the late 60's had an impact even on home decor in the suburbs (far away from back-to-the-land communes). It took a few years of course, but by the early 1970's, you were seeing avocado green appliances, prolific house plants and wicker, and a celebration of gardening.

This charming herb adorned ceramic plate clock fits neatly into this era, a bridge between the classic genre of the plate clock and the embrace of natural herbs in cooking. That combination gives it a timeless kitchen clock vibe which will look great in any kitchen, no matter how modern or old fashioned.
