This charmer is not ceramic, it's enameled cast iron, otherwise known as porcelain on metal. This gives it an elevated look, a step above, while still being light and sleek enough for easy hanging. It features classic Dutch scenes in the "Delft Blue" style, despite being made in West Germany. Once it required winding, hence the key hold, but now it works seamlessly with a c-battery movement. All in all, the perfect clock for lovers of blue & white ceramics, which is a lot of us.
