I Like Mike's Mid Century Modern
$299.00
This impressive globe lights up from within to become not just a world globe but a luminescent round aqua lamp. The unusual and very cool curved Plexiglas base helps give it that double-agent status. Though it is dripping with mid-century style, it was made by Scan-globe in 1984—still quite vintage but a bit later than we would have at first guessed. (On second thought, the 80’s embraced acrylic like a religion so it makes sense). The entire piece is in very good condition, with no clouding or scratches to the base. There is one crack in the bottom of the globe that only shows when it is lit up, and does not detract from the overall impact of this terrific piece). The Soviet Union may be long gone, but it still looms large here.
