This is an artisan piece, relatively contemporary and quite unique, made by the late wood artist Michael Elkan. Attractive wood pillars end in a natural raw edge that gives insight into what burled maple looks like on the inside. The pillars slide on a wooden base to adjust to holding more or less books. The battery quartz movement clock works and is a nice added touch for this really nice desk top set. Signed Maple Leaf Studio, which was Michael Elkan's studio until 2002.
10" H x 18" W x 5" Deep; Pillars are 9.25" H x 2.25" W x 2" D
