In our high tech world, the ingenuity of low tech solutions can sometimes be more delightful than the latest gadget. Such is the case with the hour glass, a functional time-telling device using only the natural forces of gravity as its battery. This one is a half-hour nautical version, hence the terminology on the top, including the “two dog watch” term that apparently refers to the period of time between 4-8 pm. You can read more about all that elsewhere, of course. It is simply for us to tell you that this one is made of glass and built into a brass carrying case. The condition is quite good.
