There is something uniquely pleasing about a mid-century paint-by-numbers painting--if the content is worthy. (No offence, farm-house-by-a-brook lovers, but no.) The iconic flatness, the blocks of saturated pastels, the fact that they are part of a large cultural movement yet individually painted. Add nudity to the genre and you have something disarming, terrific-- and rare.

This brunette beauty is part of a trio, but she stands alone just fine, thank you. Circa 1950. Newly framed at Brooklyn's Make A Frame, the painting has been paired with a solid wood frame with a distressed metallic silver surface that contrasts well. The painting is 60+ years old at this point (we should all look so good) and has minor wear in places, but nothing that is noticeable or detracts in any way from its wow factor. The professional framing looks as good in the back as it does in the front, except for lacking the pretty girl of course.

Please note that we are selling these three paintings individually--the photo of the three included here is for your reference only.
