This industrial chic clock is VERY HEAVY, and there's a reason for that -- it was made out of an old steam gauge for the storied Kewanee Boiler Co. The rim is solid cast iron.
How do we know this history? Because a) this isn't our first rodeo and b) they put the new clock face directly over the Kewanee Boiler Co. steam gauge face, and that has caused an embossing all these years later. You can actually read what's under the clock face, ever so gently, which makes this clock even more wonderful.
The rim is solid cast iron, meaning this clock will need to hang on wood or something strong enough to support it...or it can sit gorgeously on a shelf or mantel. Bring a little history into your home with this gorgeous piece of industrial chic.
