This cool Neo-Deco sculpture is either Stargazer by David Fisher, or something made in homage to it, rendered in that popular medium of the 1980s, black ceramic.

In this piece, creative use of different textures adds to the visual interest of this beautiful piece, the matte surface of the hair contrasting with the shine of the skin so effectively. It is hollow inside so it is not as heavy as it might otherwise be...but it is a substantial piece. Slender from one angle, full from another, interesting from every angle.

Circa 1985.
