These sophisticated all metal mid-century bookends are a little mysterious and a lot cool. The tops of the gorgeous copper-toned globes slide open to reveal compartments for stashing...well, your tobacco of course. But they would also hold cash, diamonds or love notes, so don't feel limited. They are substantial little sculptures--everything from the bases to the interior compartments are metal. There is some surface wear on the globes that some might feel enhances rather than detracts from the overall aesthetic, but please note it. The interior compartments show rust in places but are structurally sound. Interesting and very pleasing to behold.
