This Planner Group set, made of solid maple, is the most pristine McCobb set we have ever seen. The chairs are in astonishingly mint condition, as if they were never used--very rare for these popular and iconic chairs. The table top had some wear, but has now been carefully, professionally refinished--the gloss you see is not from a jar, it is the silky smooth result of a painstakingly hand-rubbed finish. (Frankly, the table is now more durable and beautiful than when the set was new.) In terms of size, it is the perfect
compact dining set for four, but can accommodate 6 quite comfortably when the (also restored) leaves are added. A classic mid-century set like this one by an influential American designer does not come along every day. We are proud to offer it in our shop.
