This is an all original signed 1950's blue and white dining set, designed by Charles and Ray Eames and manufactured by the Herman Miller Company. The DKR wire chair became an instant icon when it was designed in 1950; the "bikini" upholstery, created to perfectly fit and yet showcase the wire chair, was an option from the beginning. The royal blue vinyl bikini covers are in very good condition overall, with only a few small tears in discrete places on the bottom edge of two of the seats (pictured). The wire is vinyl coated metal, the iron bases are an alternate but original style to the base more commonly seen on DKR chairs. Original tags present. DWR sells these with the Eiffel base for close to $1500 apiece. The heavy white laminate table top is in very good condition, with minor surface wear only. The base of the table is heavy aluminum. Foil label signature in tact. The set is in excellent structural condition overall, with no wobbly surprises. It served one family very well for many decades and is now ready for its next chapter.
