This is the large and striking ceramic Roscetto Vase by Ettore Sottsass for Bitossi. It was designed in 1959 as part of his famous Hollywood series (though when this particular vase was made by Bitossi is not known). It is a dramatic piece in its black and white contrasts and geometric pattern. The condition is excellent, with only two very small repairs to the rim; repairs were made in very hard wax and are indiscernible to the touch (the entire surface is now "whole"), and are almost imperceptible to the eye. An iconic mid-century vase.
17.5" H x 5.75" Diameter (bottom), 4.25" Diameter (top)
