This gorgeous little brushed brass Swiss made clock is pretty yet strong, with an overall richness. 8-day wind up and glow in the dark hands--no batteries needed! It has a small flaw--the alarm is stuck at noon and does not re-set. So, if you need to get up earlier than noon, and you have decided to live off the grid in the woods with no other time-telling devices save this lovely mid-century modern clock, then perhaps this is a deal breaker. The rest of us can find other alarms and find that to be a minor issue.
